A few weeks ago we got feedback from some of our customers about app scheduling, and realized they are right: a user really shouldn’t have to redeploy an app every time they want to change its schedule.
We realized the process was messy, the exact opposite of what we want to do.
So we gave the scheduling in Tower a remodel. Or more like, tore it down and built it from the ground up. The new version is much more flexible and powerful, and a big step toward enabling small teams to orchestrate easier.
Tower scheduling V2 - what’s new?
We’ve given schedules a major upgrade, bringing new functionality and quality of life improvements:
Multiple schedules per app
You’re no longer limited to a single schedule. Run the same app daily, weekly, and on-demand, all without workarounds.

Flexible schedule management
Manage schedules through the CLI, API, or web app — no redeploys needed. Updating schedules is now instant and seamless.Centralized Schedule Manager
View, edit, and monitor all schedules in one place. Gain even more visibility and confidence in how your apps are running.

Seamless migration
You don’t have to lift a finger. Your existing schedules will be automatically migrated to the new system.
Why make the change?
Because we can. And because scheduling used to be brittle. If you wanted to adjust a schedule, it meant touching deployments, configs, and extra ops overhead.
We smoothed this process out, and now the experience is faster and simplified. Your schedules are smarter, more reliable, and easier to orchestrate, which means:
Developers iterate faster.
Operators gain better visibility.
Teams in production get more flexibility.
What’s the vision for schedules in Tower?
Scheduling is one of the most fundamental features in Tower, so we wanted to make it more fluid. Schedules V2 removes the friction of redeployments, makes it easy to manage schedules from anywhere, and gives you full visibility in one place.
We’re already working on small improvements, like timezone-aware cron expressions, so you can manage schedules in your local time. And we’ll keep refining the experience based on your feedback.
The scheduling update is a nice step forward, and we can’t wait to see how you use it.
